Not sure where to start tracking this down…

When an entry is edited, the resulting “View Entry” page is missing all of its styles. If I refresh, the styles come back. This does not happen when publishing a new entry or submitting any of the other admin pages.

    Hi Stephen,

What version and build of EE are you using? Have you cleared your browser cache, and does this occur in other browsers?

    We’re on version 2.1.3, Build 20101220.
Yes, I’ve cleared my cache, and it happens in Chrome and Firefox (IE8 seems OK).
Also FYI, I’m using the default skin.

    Stephen,

Was this a fresh install or an upgrade from another version or build?
What server environment are you installed on?
Do you have any add-ons installed?

This was a fresh install. We’re in a MediaTemple (dv) Plesk environment. Here’s a phpinfo page with more details: http://uptown.esiteful.com/phpinfo.php

We have a number of addons. Would you like me to send login info to the EE backend so you can look around (would need to know where to send that privately)?

    Hi Stephen,

Please now remove that phpinfo file for security purposes. Which addons do you have installed? Are you using an .htaccess file on this site and if so, what are the contents? Do you have “Enable GZIP Output” on at Admin > System Administration > Output & Debugging?

    Cheers

    Greg

That’s kind of weird. Which version of Firefox are you trying this with? Does the same thing happen on a non-MediaTemplate DV site?

    Firefox 3.6.15.

The same thing does not happen in other instances of EE on the same server.

Nothing jumps out in your add-on list that would cause this Please check your email

    Stephen,
I switched your Control Panel Session Type to Cookies only under Security and Session Preferences and it seems to have done the job. Can you confirm?

Thanks, John! It looks like that did the trick.
Is there some PHP session setting I can change that would affect this?

    Hi Stephen,

It’d be worth asking your host about; something about that configuration doesn’t like seeing that session parameter in the URL. Definitely odd, but you are fine with Cookies only.

This appears to be happening on multiple instances of EE on our MediaTemple (dv) server still. We’ve not had a chance to escalate the issue, but it is still a problem.

@capstonedesigngroup, I don’t think that’s the same issue we’re having, but thanks for sharing.

I split off the appended issues here.

Stephen, does the same change to sessions fix it for the other sites?
