Hello,

I’m trying to “idiot-proof” the Control Panel for a certain member group, and would like to know if there’s a way to remove the Multi-Edit functionality from the Edit Channel Entries page, as I only want this member group to be able to:

1) Edit entries one at a time
2) NOT be able to delete any of the entries listed on the page
3) Therefore, they would not see the red “Edit” or “Delete” buttons at the bottom of the page, nor would they see the column of check-boxes to the left of each entry.

Anyone know of a solution that would achieve this?

p.s. I’m already using the Zenbu Add-On to further reduce the amount of information visible on the Edit Entries screen.

Maybe you want something more than this, but do you have the member group preferences set to:

Channel Posting Privileges ->
Can delete their own channel entries - No.
Can delete channel entries authored by others - No.

Not sure off the top of my head if it actually gets rid of the checkboxes, but they won’t be able to delete entries.

jtoast - you could also use the SafeCracker module to let them edit just their own entries one at a time.

Thanks, Kelly! I already had the “Can delete channel entries authored by others” set to “No”, but then changed “Can delete their own channel entries” to “No” as well.
That got rid of the “delete” button, but not the check boxes. For my purpose here, it will work just fine, I think.

Would be a nice future feature to be able to set “edit” and “delete” preferences for different channels based on member group. The reason being is that I’d like this member group to be able to edit and delete entries in the Blog Channel, but not in certain other channels.

Maybe this is something I can request of the Zenbu Add-On in the meantime.
