    Hello guys!

We’ve searched a lot… but so far have not been able to arrive to an easy “entry rating system” implementation without the need for a plugin or module.

We implemented a module in 1.6.x and now are left uncovered on 2.x
We really do not plan to implement modules that are left behind by their developers…

Do you guys envision an easy way around a 5 star way of rating entries?

    Thanks a lot,

    Nicolas E.

i assume you want users to rate this, not your editors to rate it at entry point?
If so, the only way i can see to so it will be to use SAEF or the new safecracker that EE has bought. I.e. creake your own channel and relate it for rating.

However, this is going to be wildly tedious, and probably quite server intensive.
Hence why more efficient modules were built to ease the load and make your life easier.

    Options:
1 - pick a more stable developer that has been around for a while. Solspace used to be quite a big boy of the add-on market, but i see they have not updated the rating addon yet either. SO i understand you issue.
2 - Roll your own - become the master of your own addon giving you the control you need. Not easy i agree, but some people here do it.
3 - convert your existing one yourself, or with the aid of a 3rd party.

DevDemon released a ratings module http://www.devdemon.com/channel_ratings/ I am not sure how well it would be able to convert your existing ratings from another add-on but I can say that they are actively supporting and developing it.

Thanks for the assist, Justin. I haven’t used it, but glad someone has taken on that niche.

    Nicholas?
