I have a weblog with some long titles. Is there a way of increasing the length of the title field to accommodate this. I have tried increasing the field length in the DB but I assume there is a field based restriction within EE as well as the publish form won’t accept the new (long) title.

There is a thread discussing the issue here.
Essentially, it recommends that you use another field that doesn’t have the length limit. Could that work?
