I’m running v2.1.3 but the site that’s presenting a problem went live on 2 previous versions. When it was just installed, the upload file was working fine and after the latest upgrade a strange problem appears for both the Admin or Editor users:

    1. Via content/edit after filling the fields there is an image field with the “add file” link that opens the File Manager Upload File interface. I have several folders to organize images, pdf, etc. I pick the one I need and apparently everything goes fine…
    2. Back on the custom fields there is no thumbnail, and the file comes with a “Unidentified” title (it’s a jpg and it’s correctly labeled before upload).
    3. The image doesn’t show on the page.
    4. I did several test uploading via content/File Manager with the same results.
    5. The “Unidentified” label gave me a hint on changing permissions from 755 to 777 on the _thumbs folder and it worked…
    6. BTW, the thumbnail never shows…

But honestly it doesn’t sound like the best method. Any ideas?

    Hi, Juan.

Are you FTPing in the content, or just uploading it via the File Manager?

    Sue:

    1. FTP was used only to change permissions on folders.
    2. When using File Manager the uploaded image appears in the list organized by folders and it DOES show the image right there. If I click on the image it confirms with a pop-up that it was uploaded.
    3. When I link the image in the edit area an “Undefined” image appears.
    4. I erase the image via File Manager and confirm it that it was deleted via FTP (without transferring any file).
    5. I try uploading the image directly in the edit page area uploading with the small File Manager app. The one that pop-ups over the edit area.
    6. I upload the image to the indicated folder.
    7. The image works fine but it shows NO thumbnail.

    Belarga,

What are the permissions on the folder that the _thumbs folder resides in?

Can you run our server wizard please?
