    Hi people from EE =)

I have to build a new website for my client.. and he needs this stuff:

A user generated content website.. where users can upload their own videos.. (i will use a video hosting platform with api like fliqz.com)

I must manage a big user system.. where users can create their own “sub-users”... the site must manage paid subscriptions and (recurring) payments through paypal.. and other payment gateways…

So the question is.. i have to use a pre-built CMS and extend it.. or just a good framework?

I’ve been thinking about joomla, drupal and expressionengine…

It’s not neccesary to use a open source cms…

I’ve looking at drupal.. but is not as easy to understand and extend…

i’ve been working over CI for a lot of time.. so i think that extend EE.. it’s goingo to be an easy task =)

can you say to me WHY i’ve to choose Expression Engine?

    Hi lizaaard,

I’m a bit unclear on what you mean by “sub-users”, but if it means what I think, ExpressionEngine would not support that natively. I get the feeling CodeIgniter is going to be a better fit than EE based on those requirements.

Thanks for the clarification, your English is fine!  😊

Depending on your exact needs you might be able to accomplish this using a custom member field to store the “parent member ID” for sub-accounts. You’d definitely need a custom add-on to enable members to manage those sub-accounts from the front end.

It’s your call whether to start with CodeIgniter or build on EE, but if EE doesn’t work out within 30 days just take advantage of our money-back guarantee. Let me know if you have other questions!
