    Hello,

I am currently building a site in EE v2.1.0 Build 20101220.

On Saturday morning when I logged into the control panel various aspects of ee no longer worked correctly. For example it was showing older versions of templates (perhaps a week old), and would no longer do simple things like upload images.

This has happened to me before where lots of changes were lost.

I have fixed the above two problems mentioned above but it still wont let me save a file in the template manager to edit in Coda. I am assuming there may be other errors that I have not yet discovered.

Has this happened to other people? Is there anything I can do?

I’ve had this happen a couple of times on an unscrupulous host server. Someone decided, or it happened automagically, to revert the database to a backup version. When I inquired, I was told that nothing had changed. When I brought out specific examples, and asked another support tech to check on the last backup I was told, yes, something happened and an older backup was used ‘inadvertently.’

I found another, more trustworthy host.

    Thanks for the assist, Ron!

Chris, you may want to ask your host if they needed to do a db change for some reason. Also Ron is right, I’d consider moving the site.

    Does that help?

I don’t know really… i could no longer upload files, it went back template versions, the upload folders settings changed… would that be down to a database?

I can also no longer save templates as file. I get the following error message:

Unable to save your template as a text file

I’ve since updated to 2.1.3 and it has still not solved this proble,

    Chris,

I am guessing your server path may have changed

create a file called whereami.php with the following content:

    <?php echo realpath(dirname(__FILE__)) . '/'; ?>

FTP the file up to root folder, and navigate to that file using your browser.
You’ll now see your server path.

Compare that to the Basepath to Template File Directory your Global Template Preferences

Also check the permissions of this folder to see if it is writable (777)
