For members that are non-super admins I was having the problem filed on the A non-super-admin editing or creating an entry results in PHP error bug that has already been filed.

I made the fix suggested there, but I still get a 500 error page after submitting the publish page when logged in as a non-super admin.

The CI log file shows this error:

Query error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘’ at line 3

This is happening for every channel. I’m using WYGWAM, Structure and Matrix addons. But this happens even on a plain I’m on EE 2.1.3 and the server is IIS.

    Thanks if anyone can help.

P.S. If I don’t respond the same day it’s not because of lack of urgency. Looks like my wife will be giving birth to our first child tonight or tomorrow, so I might not be on email too often 😊

Congrats on the new addition to your family. 😊

Can we have you test this on the EE 2.1.4 beta? A local install, perhaps?

    Thanks Sue,

I’m ready to give it a try. Where can I download the beta at?

When you download a fresh copy of EE you will be presented with a radio button on the license page. It allows you to download the 2.1.4 Beta instead of 2.1.3.

I was unable to upgrade on our IIS dev server as the upgrade script required the ee cache folder to be ‘write-able’. I even tried copying the old cache folder over to the new system directory and it still found it to be unwrite-able, although cache is being written there.

I could upgrade locally and then push that out to the IIS server. However, I’m no longer able to produce the 500 error on publish/edit form submissions for non super-admins. I’m not sure what changed on the server, but as it stands I believe this is a resolved issue.

    Thanks again for your help.
