I recently moved a client’s site from a mediatemple (dv) server to the client’s own hosting account at network solutions. after moving all files and the database, changing all of the necessary paths, etc. everything on the website works except for form submissions. this includes freeform-driven forms, forum submissions and entry comment submission forms. On each, I receive the error:

You are not authorized to perform this action

I have cleared all caches, turned off “Process form data in Secure Mode?” (and subsequently turned it back on after it didn’t have any effect), logged out of the control panel to attempt as a non-member, all unsuccessfully.

I’m running 1.6.9, and as mentioned above, the site worked like a charm on mediatemple, so i’m guessing it has something to do with the server config at network solutions. i have sent in a support ticket to them as well, but wanted to see if i could get any tips from you all fine people as well.

    thanks!

Hi, Pat. Take a look at this thread: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/125289/

    See if it helps.

thanks sue. unfortunately, that didn’t solve my issue. i have also tried setting “Process form data in Secure Mode?” to off, per other posts I read on the issue, without success. i have also been trying to get answers from network solutions as to why this may not be working, and their response is the following:

“Update the code to reflect the form method to which you are collecting the data.”

I’ve asked them for further clarification on what they’re saying, but does that make any sense to you? I double-checked all of the URL’s are correct in the CP and in the hidden fields on the forms on my site. Still no luck though.

    Any other thoughts on this??

    Thanks so much.

what version of PHP are you using? Are there any error logs that you can consult? Consider upgrading to EE 1.7, too.

i’m on PHP 5.2.13. Previous host (where site worked without issues) is on PHP 5.2.6.

I just upgraded to 1.7 and am still getting the same error. In my server error log I was getting a “mod_mime_magic: can’t read” error on my index.php file (in the root directory), but have since changed it’s permissions to 666, and am no longer receiving that error. only other errors are due to missing favicon and robots.txt.

    any other thoughts?? thanks

Hi, Pat. What I’d do is install 2.1.3 as a *test* on that particular server, and see if the issue still persists. It’s sounding like there’s something else going on server wise.
