We’re running a site with EE2.1.0 and MSM. We needed to add another site in MSM so purchased a licence and downloaded the new MSM from your site. one of the files in it (/controllers/cp/sites.php) extended CI_Controller.php which our version of EE doesn’t seem to have…I did a grep and there’s no mention of a CI_Controller anywhere in our system folder or the files in its subdirectories.

As a result of this we then tried to upgrade our EE install from 2.1.0 to the latest version from your site. Everything in the upgrade process went smoothly up until hitting update. the installer has been faithfully working away for over 3 hours now…this can’t be right can it? I suspect it’s entered an infinate loop.

It’s flicking between ‘Starting next step…’ and displaying the number 2.1.3.

We need this problem fixed soon as possible, any help would be greatly appreciated.

No this is not right. Stop the script. Do you have backups of everything?

Did you have anything out of the ordinary in your EE2.1.0 config file?
In terms of scale how large is your site entries - comments etc?

In your PHP info what is the value for max_execution_time
