I recently used the mailing list function to send out an email update….my problem is that some users received the email more than once about an average of 19 times in less than a minute…..
Why would this happen, and how can it be prevented in the future?

What version and build of EE are you using?
Are you using any add-ons?
What email protocol are you using?
How many users did you send to?
Were you using batch mode?

The system was 2.1.0. I have since updated it to the most recent version and build on their monthly schedule.
As for add-ons I am told they used the built in functions. Firemail is installed…...
It is setup to use php mail right now.
They email was sent to 839 emails. An batch mode was used splitting into groups of 200.
they send out a newsletter every week to 211 people with no one reporting any issues.
If this is a batching issue how can we test this to make sure it does not happen with out sending it to the 800+ people?

Is that consistent with your issue? What version of Firemail are you using?

Yeah that sounds like the same problem….I have the latest version running 1.5.1
I requested support from that developer. Any other thoughts or do you think this is due to the plugin?

Yes, this does very much sound like an issue with Firemail. Let us know what they say, please.
