Video Player is an ExpressionEngine Add-On that lets you search & add videos from the Internet to your ExpressionEngine website.
We’ve just released a new version, here’s what’s new :
Video search & API support for Youtube & Vimeo
Safecracker support
New template tags (thumbnail, duration, plays, ...)
If you were already using the first version of Video Player, you are going to love the v2 ! You just have to tell which field you want to update and you’re ready to go.
Video search & API support
Video Player lets you search videos from the Internet, right from the ExpressionEngine Control panel. Select the video that you want to use from the results in order to add it to one of your entries.
But wait, there is more ! You can now access the meta data video from your template tags, thanks to the new API support. The new template tags let you display details about video title, thumbnail, description, duration, play count, and more… See the documentation for the full list of supported meta data.
Please note that for now, video search & API support are only working with Youtube and Vimeo. The other supported services can only be used by giving the video url.
Safecracker support
Let your visitors play with video too ! We have added Safecracker support and Video Player can now be used in your forms.
You could for example ask you visitors to contribute to your website by sending you videos.
Matrix support
The Pixel and Tonic Matrix add-ons lets you create repeatable fields in ExpressionEngine.
Video Player is now compatible with Matrix and lets you easily bind videos to your entries.
