    CI is way behind the curve.  There are dozens of other frameworks who’ve implemented these exact thing years ago.

    Okay I’ll take the bait.

    Sure other frameworks may have the same features or even better ones but for some reason or another they don’t quite have what codeigniter does.

    As a simple development platform CI2 is great. The documentation is comprehensive, the community is helpful & experienced, It’s secure & stable. If you need built-in features like an admin-generator or built-in modules there are other alternatives however they will all be slightly slower the more it does.

    I’ll admit I’ve been keenly awaiting symfony2 however I’ll happily use CI & symfony2. A framework isn’t a marriage, you can play the field & use what is appropriate.
