    Hi folks…

I’ve been working off the assumption that posting images inline in the text of an entry would be an easy thing to set up in Expression Engine 2.0. Searching Google and these forums has unveiled a minefield of multiple plugins, some of which are only available for EE1.0 and others cost a lot of cash (I’m building a freelance portfolio and blog, so little or no budget).

Can ANYONE give a definitive answer on this? How is it best done?

    Thanks,

    John.

    Hi, John.

Can you tell us which version/build of EE2.x you’re using? See EEWiki:// HowTo Determine My EE Version

What exactly do you want to do with the inline image? Have you considered using the File field?

    Hi,

I’m using 2.1.3. I’ve tried the file field (since posting) and it works ok, but it’s not as nice as the kind of functionality I was getting from Wordpress before I switched over (positioning and styling with captions in the edit field on the publish page). I’ll get by with it though.

The absolute ideal (for me!) would be the ability to use the Flickr plugin (Brett DeWoody’s) to add multiple images to an entry, and just like the file field, embed some of those in the text. Unfortunately, any more than one Flickr field and the later ones simply won’t open the photos window on the publish page.

    Thanks for the reply though!

Glasd to see you have a working solution for now. Moving to the CodeShare Cotner for further discussions and community support. Thanks.
