    Using EE v2.1.3, Build: 20101220

    What Happens:
I have a blog set up. As with most blogs, site visitors can leave comments on articles. Once a visitor leaves a comment, the comment is marked as “Closed”. The comment does not show up yet on the website. A site administrator is then notified by email of the new comment. The administrator can then approve or delete the comment.

    What I’d Like to Happen:
What would be great for extra communication (and keeping the conversation going) would be a way for the site visitor who left the comment to be notified of the status of their comment, whether accepted or rejected. Is this possible for EE out-of-the-box? Or, is there an addon which can add this functionality?

    Thanks!

    AdamBaney,

If you gave them the opportunity in the comment form to be notified of follow up comments I believe they will be notified when their comment is set to open by you.

There is no notification for a deleted comment. It would make for a good feature request though

Thanks, John. There is the option to be notified of followup emails, by use of a checkbox, on the site I’m working on. Just to be sure, if someone does check that checkbox to be notified of followup comments, and once their comment is approved, they will be notified of their approved comment?

I’ll put in a feature request. Thanks!

That is correct. I tested it this morning myself when I reviewed your thread.
