We are going to redesign a website. Currently this site uses databases to build up pages, like this: http://www.nvbs.com/Afdelingen. These pages contain dates and descriptions of events, contact addresses etc. Can these existing databases be integrated into an Expression Engine design? And how?

Is it possible to maintain these existing databases using EE?

    Thanks,

    Martin.

    Hi Martin,

You won’t be able to directly integrate this database into EE but you could probably develop an addon (module) that converts the data into EE entries. Alternatively, because EE2 is built on CodeIgniter you could probably develop a module that directly queries your existing database when required.

If you want further general advice about the best way to approach this then please do post in the CodeShare Corner forum to get some community input to this.

    Cheers

    Greg
