    I am running EE 2.1.3 Build 20101220

    I keep my JS files in JavaScript templates in the CP. I was trying to upgrade to the latest version of jQuery, and I was getting a syntax error. It looks like there is a line in jQuery that is being parsed by EE.

    {embed:true,object:"clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000",applet:true}

    Is there any way to tell EE not to run this file through the parser?

    Yeah I’ve run into a similar issue before. It seems there are two typical solutions, although neither worked for me.

    1) Make sure the protect_javascript variable is set to yes, in Admin > System Administration > Config File Editor.

    2) You can try adding line-breaks after and before the opening and closing curly brackets respectivly

    protect_javascript is set to y by default, so I didn’t have to touch that. But just adding a space after the opening curly bracket seemed to solve the problem. Thanks for the suggestion.

    Thanks for the assist, and glad to see that works. Post again as needed, please.
