We are using EE v. 1.67 with MSM. We have two sites running with two different forum boards.
Each forum uses a different theme to match the site which it is on.

    Here’s the problem.

Both forums are working…can post, etc, however, on one of the forums, we can upload attachments, but no thumbnail appears, only a link which, when clicked, opens a pop-up of the home page of the site. Although the path to the file attachment is set to the path to /images/forum_attachments. We have checked and rechecked the paths and settings and permissions for each forum. We have set all correctly.

Both sites share the same ADMIN and also the same forum module.

The URLs for the sites are:

    http://www.themvsgroup.com

    http://www.us-securenet.com

Attachments work for US-Securenet, but not for the MVS group. We have tried creating a new forum board, but had the same problem.

Does the Site ID have to match the Forum Board ID? This is the only difference between settings on the two. US-Securenet site id is 4 and the forum board id is 4. MVS site is 3 and forum board is 1. The problem seems to occur when the ?ACT27 function is called. The link to the MVS attchment opens a window that does not display the image. It displays the home page of the site.

Any help or suggestions are much appreciated.

    mjftrifecta,

    Welcome to the forums 😊

If you add the index.php back into an attachment link and use your browser to visit that revised URL you can see it works.

I believe you may have a difference in both sites htaccess which you are using to remove the index.php from the URL. Something which we do not support unfortunately but that is what is happening I believe. Let us know if you can pinpoint the issue by examining them
