I’m running site 1 (urbanrez.ca) on EE 1.70, and after installing MSM and setting up the templates for the second site (samaqan.ca) the new site, number 2, loads the templates for site 1.

Example: http://samaqan.ca/index.php?samaqan/news loads the templates for http://urbanrez.ca/index.php?urbanrez/samaqan

A good clue to the problem might be the fact that the default index.php file at http://samaqan.ca/index.php isn’t loading the css file.

I’ve tried many solutions, clearing the caches, updating EE to 1.70 from 1.6.9.

All help appreciated.

Are you using any extensions? When you open the the samaquan CP, do you see its own templates?

I’m not using any extensions except MSM, and yes, I can view and edit all the Samaqan templates. In fact, all of the CP functionality is working perfectly for both sites.

FYI here are my relevant CP General Configuration settings:
Enable Multiple Site Manager - Yes  
Name of your site’s index page - index
URL to the root directory of your site - http://samaqan.ca/ 
URL to your Control Panel index page - This is exactly the same as the first, working site setting
URL to your “themes” folder - This is exactly the same as the first, working site setting
Theme Folder Path - This is exactly the same as the first, working site setting

Hi, archer -

Can you show us your path.php for Site 2?  If you can copy/paste that in here that would help I’ll be specifically looking for site_name variable.

Can you also post the two site short-names for each of the Sites, as set in your CP?

Happily, I’ve just figured it out, although what the problem was I still don’t know. I exported my templates, deleted the second site and started it again from scratch. That did it.

Something got corrupted somewhere, I suppose.

One small issue remains. In the CP, top right corner, “Current User: Archer” the green background is weird and corrupted. It looks different in Safari and Firefox, screen grabs attached.

You might try re-uploading your images again in binary mode. I’ve seen it happen before.
