Template quirkiness

I have a live/browse multi-entry template that, when hit directly, goes to site/404, but live/browse/all (or any 3rd segment) works normally. My other templates in the “live” template group work fine when hit directly, such as live/map. I’ve tried completely changing the template code and deleted and recreated it, but no luck.

I have an about/index single-entry template that is embedding about/page. It usually works with just 2 segments, the template group and URL title of an entry, such as /about/about-uptown, /about/uptown-staff, etc. One of my entries (so far) gives me a blank page. Browsing to that same entry with all 3 segments works, e.g. about/index/what-is-uptown or about/page/what-is-uptown.

I’ve cleared all caches and made sure the status and date are correct on that entry, and I’m puzzled even more because other entries work with that URL format, indicating that the templates are working properly, and using the “full” URL format for that entry does work.

You can see the template debugging at the bottom of the pages. Oddly, about/what-is-uptown says the Path.php template is contact/index. I don’t have a path.php or anything especially custom in my index.php.

Nevermind. We stopped using the Pages module in a much earlier stage on this project, but there were still some pages set that were causing this.
