This is on EE 2.1.3, Build 20101220

I’ve added a few fields to a channel and set up the Publish layout with all fields open. All the fields are also set to show by default. If I change anything in the the field settings and save, when I go back to the Publish page, the field is closed. This seems to happen for any field, text, textarea, matrix, etc.

    Thanks,

    - Chris

I’m seeing the same thing. I have textareas and text inputs (native types) that are definitely set to be open by default, but they appear closed when I’m editing an entry. EE 2.1.3, 20101220. Minor annoyance for now, as this is our own internal site, but obviously something I’d like to fix before presenting to a client.

I’ve also run into this, but not in the last month or so. For what it’s worth, I couldn’t find a filed bug for this behavior.

Are you logged in as a Superadmin? Does the channel have a status group assigned to it?

    For me, yes to both.

I have this bug on 2.1.3 20101220 also but only after I edit a custom field in Admin >> Channels Admin >> Custom Fields. Then go back to the publish or edit page. Opening the sidebar and then opening the field and saving the publish layout has been the fix that I have found to work. I am logged in as a Super Admin and have a status group set up. But I have noticed the same problem for other member groups that have publishing rights.

    Ingmar,

I am logged in as a Super Admin and the channel has a status group assigned. As Justin also said, opening the sidebar and opening the field and saving fixes it, but only until you edit the field again.

I’ve also noticed the issue when creating new fields, if a layout has already been saved for the channel.

I posted this to the Bug Tracker on 22 December, it’s still showing as New.

    Hi all,

Can each of you please let us know what extensions you are using?  We are looking into replicating this.
