Multi-entry SAEF, or how to add custom fields to EE CP Multi-entry Edit

I’m wondering what it would take to be able create a multi-entry standalone EDIT form so my customer can more easily reorder entries.

An option would be to be able to put a custom field in EE’s multi-entry editing tool (actually, I think I read something about this somewhere, but can’t find it).

I’ve tried the reeorder module, but it’s not working for my customer because we need to be able to sort products by category.

I’m no programmer, but I’m pretty sure this is going to need an add-on of some sort.

See images below for what I think would be great. On left is not preferable, but I would settle for doing one at a time and reloading the page with new order. Image on right would be wonderful.

    Thanks,
    Ken

Hi, kstatham, you’re right, this is going to take some custom coding. You may want to look around on Devot-ee.com to see if something already exists. In the mean time I’m moving this to the CodeShare Corner for additional community support.

Thanks Sue (sorry for the delay),

I found what I was looking for: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/85394

Some of the people in that thread were having problems,  but it’s working for me so far. Hoping this is being considered for the EE2 SAEF overhaul you’re working on.

    Thanks again,
    Ken
