    I have an account on Enginehosting and I tried to upgrade from 1.60 (this this the number I see of my previous upgra) or one higher than that. Everything seems to go well but then the upgrade stalls. If I try it again it comes to halt.

    I get this mesage:

    system/index.php?C=wizard&M=do_update&agree=yes&ajax_progress=yes&language=english” because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes occurs when the server is busy. Wait for a few minutes, and then try again.

    How can I fix this?

    Murmann,

    take a look in your config.php file. What version does it say you are on? Is there a variable there relating to your upgrade process?

    $conf['app_version'] = "160";
    $conf['license_number'] = "";
    $conf['debug'] = "1";
    $conf['install_lock'] = "1";

    What variable should be there for the upgrade process?

    Hi Murmann,

    That looks ok but the install_lock config item should be set to an empty string before trying any upgrade again:

    $conf['install_lock'] = "";

    I recommend upgrading to version 1.7.0 first and then upgrading from 1.7.0 to EE 2.x. Had you taken a full DB and file backup before attempting the upgrade?

    Cheers

    Hi Murmann,

    When you go to your download area (https://secure.expressionengine.com/download.php) and choose a package to download you will then see a radio button at the bottom where you can choose to download EE 1.x instead of EE 2.x.

    Cheers

    Greg
