    we are getting this error message in the back end of a client site:
    “An unexpected error occurred attempting to download the current ExpressionEngine version number. Please visit your Download Account to verify you are on the current version. If this error persists, please contact your system administrator”

    We have not made any changes to the license and checked again it is inputted correctly, everything looks fine to us, can you help us figure how to get rid of this error message?

    I get the same message on an updated site from 2.1.2 to 2.1.3

    Can you both check your config file and see if your version number is on 213?

    Did you also update a version wearepapertiger?

    Yes it is on 213. But strange enough, I haven’t done anything and today the message is gone.

    Hi Wearepapertiger,

    This is known to happen when the installation tries to confirm its version number against our server to alert people to new versions of ExpressionEngine.

    Some hosting providers are known to terminate outbound connections and thus generate that error.

    Please let us know if you are still having this issue.
