    Hello, all,

This morning, we have released a new version to fix some critical bugs in ExpressionEngine 2.1.2. This includes fixes for the Discussion Forum module.

You can read about these updates in our ExpressionEngine Change Log and Discussion Forum Change Log

This is a required ExpressionEngine version update for sites running 2.1.2, as well as Forum Version Update for Discussion Forum module users.

I apologize for the inconvenience these bugs have created for sites that updated to 2.1.2.

    Good job guys!

Problems will occur and it’s good to know the problems have been addressed so close to Christmas.

Hopefully you can take on board some of the feedback in the Pro Network area 😉

    Hi Lisa,

Thanks for the hard work! It’s a Christmas present itself!

Could I request that each update include a link to the download? Maybe there could be a standard set of links for these types of announcements.

For me, missing those links and not having a clear place to get the download and the appropriate procedure has contributed to issues with my sites.

Also, if your version control system supports it, would it be possible to generate scripted updates?  In other words, an update that actually runs a script and only changes the effected files, rather than overwrites everything?

The reason for this is that a complete overwrite can destroy version control system files.  In that situation, all the files have to be moved manually at the file lever, rather than the folder level.  Ouch!

    Thanks!

    Hi, GoElement -

The download link is always going to be in My Downloads.  That is where all of your first-party EE purchases are, that link never changes.  You can get to there in the top-right of our home-page, in the drop-down under your name as well.

You’re welcome to post a feature request for changes to the update procedure.  I’d love to see your thoughts translated, and it helps to know your workflow and the impact therein.  ie: your story. =)

    Thank you!
