Long load time between pages

    Hello,

I have a website running Expression Engine 1.6.7, the address is:
    http://www.inadiscover.com/

When clicking between pages there seems to be a long load time.  The lag time seems to happen before anything starts loading.  This is even between pages with just text and small photos.

I’ve had my web developer go through and streamline all he could, but the delay is still there.  Are we missing something?  How can we get rid of this?

    Cheers,
    Nathan

Nathan, I’m not a EE expert (just fellow member), but there are many possible reasons for this.

Perhaps the first things to check are:

    1. The load on the server - if your web guy can telnet into the server and do a “top” command (UNIX, LINUX), they will be able to tell whether you are on a heavily loaded shared server.

    2. Page rendering time in EE - I think you can put some code at the bottom of each page which tells you the page load time in the EE system. Notice it is on the bottom of these pages (forum)......

I’d start there….and then move on if you find server load is not the problem.

Keep in mind that many web hosts put hundreds of accounts on a single computer server…some of these could be using a lot of the resources.
