    Hi,

    1. I’m redesigning the User Messages page and have hit the limit for emails per day from a contact form. I’ve searched the CP options and the docs, as well as forum topics and I’m unable to find the solution posted. I’ve explored a number of the system files and not found the right line yet, so need your help. Where can I remove or raise the daily limit?

The new message page was designed outside of EE, but certain refinements take numerous tweaks. I’d appreciate your help in locating the fix.

    2. For a contact email that is complete (all fields validate) is there a way (parameter configuration, etc.) to use my own “thank you” message and skip the system message all together? I prefer some other options and controls on that page and don’t want them included in the other messages such as validation, etc.

    Thank you.

Re. #1 above: I can regain functionality by deleting records from the DB, but I’d prefer to just raise the limit if possible.

As I continue to tinker, it’s apparent that I’d really prefer to get #2 above to work. In other words, skip the EE “Thank you” message for contact emails if possible.

    Thanks.

Are you talking about a limit of sending emails via EE’s contact form? There is no limit that I am aware of. That said, web hosts very often do subject their customers to a similar limit. Could this be the case here?

Using the contact form there is no built-in way to override EE’s system message, I am afraid. Perhaps a third-party add-on like Custom System Messages might be a solution?

Thank you Ingmar. I am only hitting an email limit while using the EE contact form, and the dialogue informing of same is an EE dialogue. My server/host has no limits aside from mailing lists and the like. It occurs at about 25 emails. If I delete a couple from the DB I can resume. The dialogue is something like: “you have exceed your maximum allowed emails per day”. I have looked through most of the system files and not found the line of code controlling this.

I will look at Custom System Messages. Thank you, I’ve not heard of that.

In the mean time, I have resolved my problem by taking my contact form out of EE, implementing my own PHP script and “thank you” dialogue, and then take the user back to EE. For this application it is not a problem (in fact faster/more responsive), but I was hoping to learn of a way to control it within EE (for other projects), even if requiring a bit of “adjustment” to the php. I’ll study your suggestion, and I know about “Freeform” as well.

Thanks very much for your help.
