    Hi,

I am updating from 1.7.2 to 2.1.1. Everything seems to be working okay, except that when I start the updater and I’m asked to accept the license agreement, I get a 403 error page.

    Forbidden

You don’t have permission to access /not_system/index.php on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

If I refresh the page, I’m taken back to the license agreement page. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you have.

    Hi Carry,

Can you please check that you have set your file permissions appropriately in accordance with the documentation. If that doesn’t work then please contact your host about this issue because it may then be a server configuration error.

    Cheers

    Greg

The file permissions were the first thing I double checked before posting a request for help. (I probably should have mentioned that in my original request.) I will talk with my host and see if I can get anywhere.

    Bueno!

I contacted my hosting company and they changed the file permissions on my “system” file to allow the public to execute it (whatever that means) and the upgrade wizard worked flawlessly. Hopefully, this information will help others if they run into the same problem in the future.
