    When I visit the backend of a brand-new site (no extensions yet, latest build; although the EE Info accessory says “v2.1.0 Build 20101020”), all is well and good until I try to access any page that has the following URL parameter:

    C=admin_content

    That’s basically everything under Admin > Channel Administration and Admin > Content Administration. When I try to visit those pages, I get a HTTP Error 500. Interestingly, or not, Chrome for Windows is the only browser to show me an error message: all other browsers show a blank page.

    This client site is on a Hostgator shared server.

    Any clues? Thanks!

    Michael,

    Can you upload and run our Server Wizard after making sure your host meets all our requirements please

    Yessir, everything checks out. ‘Yes’ on everything in the wizard, and v.5 for both PHP and MySQL. EE runs fine: it’s the admin_content pages that don’t.

    I had issues with HostGator, so moved the site over to EngineHosting. I did get an error message on Firefox, but I don’t recall what it was exactly. Sorry not to have better news.

    I had recommended EngineHosting to the client, but people tend to look uncritically at the amount of storage and think other hosts are better because they offer more.

    Anyway, I should have looked at the install first. I just saw that /system/expressionengine/controllers/cp/admin_content.php was 0 B. I’m not sure how it didn’t copy over in the first place, but once I uploaded a fresh copy, my Channel and Content admin pages now work.

    Sorry for the bother. Consider this issue solved!
