Just to get this out of the way, I’m using EE v1.6.8 build: 20091002 and Discussion Forum v2.1.1 build: 20090211. Unfortunately, updating is not an option at the moment.

Ok, so I’ve been trying to implement CKEditor v3.4.2 into my forum’s post submission forms. The editor appears and allows users to create fancy posts with its snazzy wysiwyg abilities. It outputs html just fine, however when the post is displayed in the topic on the forum it is only partially parsed. The forum recognizes some of the html tags but ignores others and simply displays it as text. I even have “Allow ALL html” turned on in the forum settings for posts.

To test that the editor’s output is indeed valid, I copy/pasted it verbatim into a new html document. It worked fine. I also pasted the output into a fresh article (weblog module), which is by default set to “Allow ALL html”, and it also worked fine there. The forum is the only place that does not seem to completely parse the output.

Here’s a link to my test forum: Click me! There you can see some example posts displaying output from the editor.

So my question is, since it seems the output is indeed valid code, why does the forum not parse it despite “Allow ALL html” being turned on?

Do I need to modify some of the core php for the forum?

Can I modify the “Safe HTML” tags to accept more tags from the editor and if so, where would I make my edits?

    Thanks in advance,
    -Chris

    Chris,
The default preferences are only to feed the preferences of any new forums you create.

So double check you are actually changing the preferences of the forum as opposed to the default. Click Edit beside the Forum name. Then Choose Show Preferences

Hopefully it is as simple as that
