    Running EE 2.1

Hi, folks. Hope someone can help with this one.

I’ve been experiencing some server issues with my EE site running at Hostek.com. The site and CP will be running fine, then I suddenly get an error—501 I think—that tells me Method Not Implemented. When this happens, I’m unable to continue working with the site until Hostek tech support steps in and resets my account.

From what we can tell, it’s specific to my site since I’m apparently the only one at the moment that is hitting the security rule causing the problem. The techs believe it may be specific to EE (or at least my installation of EE) and they’ve let me know that mod_security rule 959006 is being triggered.

Support is whitelisting me for now so I can continue to work but obviously this only addresses the symptom, not the cause. Has anyone encountered this problem or know how I can go about fixing it?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

I am afraid we can’t offer much help here. I am not overly familiar with mod_security, let alone particular rules. It looks like you’re running into one of the regular expressions used by this rule. If disabling mod_security altogether is not an option having your host’s support whitelist you (or otherwise create an exception to the rule, as it were) is indeed your best option.

Okay. Thanks, Ingmar. I guess I’ll have to take the whitelist path.

Sounds like you have a workaround. Don’t hesitate to post again as needed.
