    Hi,

I’m having trouble logging into the CP aith the superuser account.
I’ve just moved the site from dev(works fine) to live server + copied the database(db config has been changed and is working).

The login screen just refreshes, but if I look at the cookies there is one(exp_flash) with a message saying “You are not authorized to perform this action”(shouldn’t this display onscreen?).

I did a “forgot password”, but no difference.

    version: 2.1.0
    build: 20100810

One thing that is different that dev is that the site is running on a tmp path on ssl. Not sure if that has anything to do with it?

    Help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi, Supply.

Try adding the following line to your /system/expressionengine/config/config.php file:

    $config['admin_session_type'] = "c";

See if that helps. That setting sets the admin session type to use cookies only.

    Hi Sue,

Only change is I now have an “auto login on future visits” checkbox which I’ve never had before (on any EE install).
    Still can’t actually log in.

I’ve attached a screenshot with the cookie panel open in firebug, if that helps any.

Is there a file system based permission issue or something that could cause this to happen?
The database is exactly the same as my local dev environment that works fine - so it has to be something with the new server’s config(its a brand new vps that we’ve just setup – first time use).

    Thanks,
    Toby

    Figured it out.

Its an issue with plesk and the “preview” url. Using a hosts file hack fix the problem.
Still can’t workout what the issue really is though - it should have worked fine.

Anyway, back to completing the setup…

Glad you have a workaround for now.. Don’t hesitate to post again as needed.
