I recently upgraded from 1.7 to 2.1.1, and am experiencing some odd behavior with member groups.

When I create a new group and assign a member to it, some permissions seem to have no effect. Specifically, even if I enable all permissions, going to Content > File Manager will give me a “You are not authorized to access this page” error.

I think its strange also that the NSM Morphine accessory refuses to activate for these new member groups. I worry this indicates something else is going on here. Disabling the accessory has no effect.

Any ideas about what might be happening here?

An update: with the NSM Morphine theme, it works if I disable it for other member groups—looks like it might have a 16 member group limit, and I have 18 here?

Still puzzled about the file manager access though?

Never mind—got it—just forgot to enable the member group under “File Upload Preferences.”
