hello - our client is a large international co. with many employees. the EE site we built for one of their business units is hosted externally @ enginehosting, and is strictly membership based. they’d like us to incorporate a single sign on process, so users of their company portal can log in once, and be able to jump to the EE site without having to log in again with a different set of credentials.

is this even possible? two separate server environments, different databases, different login credentials, etc. i can’t see how we’d even be able to map users of one system onto another. the EE site users create their own login/passwords, and have stored information such as pages they’ve ‘favorited’ in the site.

    any suggestions?

    thx!

You could try NCE LDAP (EE1), LDAP (EE2), or LDAP Authentication (both EE1 and EE2).

If you can’t use LDAP, these extensions use the login_authenticate_start hook (EE1/EE2), so you might be able to build something that uses that.
