File Upload doesn't seem to be behaving properly?

Hello, not so long ago I upgraded from Core to v2.1.0

One of my users told me their file wouldn’t upload.

In checking, I see it DID upload but, when you upload a file, the little “wheel” keeps on spinning, saying “uploading….” and never finishes.  But, if I refresh the file list or check the actual site directory via ftp, the file HAS uploaded.

And, when the file is the same name as a prior file, it doesn’t ever give the option to overwrite or rename, it just appends the file name with a number… so my directory ends up having Class_schedule.pdf, Class_schedule1.pdf, Class_schedule2.pdf…. etc.

This is problematic because I have trained users to overwrite an existing file that is part of the menu structure.

Does anyone know what might be going on with this?

    DonnaLilly,

Can you go ahead and upgrade to version EE2.1.1 please so we are all on the same page when it comes to troubleshooting. An upgrade should fix that previously reported bug with the spinner

And, when the file is the same name as a prior file, it doesn’t ever give the option to overwrite or rename, it just appends the file name with a number

This is the case with EE2. If you wish this to behave like previously or at least have an option to turn on this behaviour please feel free to make a Feature Request

Oh gosh. I JUST barely got upgraded to 2.0. Is this a foolproof upgrade path? Or do I need to do the whole back up, test site, etc.? Yikes… I guess I will find the thread on this upgrade. Thanks!

    Donna,
EE2.1 was released back in July while EE2.1.1 was released the end of October

To upgrade please use these instructions and nothing else

Any problems let us know. Backup is essential in any upgrade like this.
