    Hi all,

I’ve got a weblog from which I I’m producing both HTML and XML feeds. For the web side, the built in EE email obfuscation works great. However, on the XML side (feeding a mobile app) the obfuscation ruins the display of email addresses.

Has anyone got a workaround for this? Some way to disable obfuscation in XML templates??

Unfortunately emails are inline in text and not isolated in a separate email field.

    Thanks.

    J.

I am afraid you can’t disable it selectively, on as case-by-base basis, as it were. Just turn off “Automatically turn URLs and email addresses into links?”, see if that works.

Also, welcome to the forums 😊

Thanks… that’s the answer I feared. I’ve already kinda fixed this with a combination of the {encode=} tag and a few “policy” restrictions on content.

Also, thanks for the welcome… although I’ve been knocking around the forums for a little while under my employers login. Will be picking up a freelance licence soon!

Is there a way to request features? I think this obfuscation issue stands in the way of some potentially very powerful uses of xml to distribute content from EE sites to devices.

    Thanks,

    J.

Yes, I see your point. Feature Requests can be made in their own forum, by the way 😊

Great, thank. I’ll pop on over there and post soon.
