    hey Ingmar,

i am having a very similar problem.

i have the same menu backround problem as this user, and, in the channel’s publish and edit pages, i don’t get the text formatting buttons to come in visible. the box is there for them, i can even click where they “should” be and it will bold or link or whatever.

i read the link to the troubleshoot, it talks about the file /cp_themes/default/default.css

there was no default.css file in either the original zip file of EE2.1 or the server in that folder. i was at a loss as to where to get this from.

i did try to move the folder to the system folder like the troubleshoot instructed, but it didn’t “find” it on it’s own, and i tried changing the themes folder path, but it produced errors.

    any clues?

What version and build of EE are you using? Any extensions? You might want to try uploading a fresh set of files, including themes.

I am having the same issue. I just downloaded and did a fresh install of version 2.1.1.  I don’t have a default.css that came with my download in the themes\cp_themes\default\ folder. Does anyone have a solution for this issue?

The troubleshooting article contains inaccurate information. I’ve created a bug report on your behalf.

To work around the problem, you may need to copy the entire /themes/cp_themes to your /system/expressionengine folder. Our apologies for this documentation error.

I tried copying the cp_themes folder into my system folder(i renamed the folder and updated my config file as suggested in installation instructions) and it still doesn’t work.  Is there another solution?  Or am I doing something wrong here?

I’m having the same problem. I’ve redownloaded EE2, reuploaded the cp_themes, uploaded cp_themes to my system folder and I’m getting no results. Please help!

monster8, I just had that same issue as in previous upgrades. I uploaded the hole “themes” (previously changing the name to the online themes folder) and it worked fine without saving the cp_themes anywhere else… hope it helps.

    Hi monster8,

Did Belarga’s tip help you with this?

    Cheers

Unfortunately I still wasn’t able to get the themes working properly. I reuploaded the entire themes folder and it’s still the same. Am I missing a file?

    monster8,

What is your specific issue with the themes? Is your CP all looking unstyled or just certain parts?
What version and build of EE are you using?

If your version is different to downloaded version you will need to do a version update and not just replace the themes folder which is also necessary.

Have you got a link to your site you can share?

    John,

I’m using EE2. The CP was completely unstyled with no images or css. It seemed like it just wasn’t finding the theme at all. I ended up fixing the issue by starting completely fresh and restoring the db and reinstalling EE all over again. I don’t know what the issue was but it’s working now. Thanks for your help.
