Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions for how to make it easy/easier for authors to create links to other entries? I’m talking about creating inline links within, for example, the text of the main body of an entry, NOT using related entries, a separate field etc…

Especially anything that works WITHOUT needing to employ one of the WYSIWYG tools. (I know, I don’t ask for much  .  We’re currently using Textile + EE formatting buttons for simple text formatting, so perhaps a plugin that modifies the pop-up link box you get with the default formatting buttons?

    Sophie,

I am currently developing an EE add-on to provide exactly this functionality. At the moment I’m not aware of any other way to do it easily.

Thanks for the reply Chuck. I’m still fairly new to EE (third site in dev now), so am still at that stage when I’m not sure if there IS a solution out there but I just haven’t looked hard enough. I’d be interested in your add-on as and when it’s available.

    Me too 😊
As an interim solution, you could always make a template (similar to a sitemap) that lists all the URLs on the site and link to this template via a quick link in the control panel.
That way your editors can always pop over to that list and copy/paste the url they need.
I’ve done this twice already on projects and people found this a useful workaround.
