I’m upgrading from version 1.5.2 core (I know, I know!) of EE to 2.0 and when I run the update wizard, I get the data base error - Error Number: 1146 Table ‘katedb.exp_sites’ doesn’t exist - the same as this thread. So I need to upgrade to 1.6.9 first? Could you advise how I do that?

Yes, please do upgrade to 1.6.9 (the full version) first, and then attempt to go to EE 2.1
