I am running EE 1.6.8 and am having problems editing at least one weblog entry. When I click on the weblog entry in the edit screen my browser attempts to download the PHP file, giving me an option to open with an application or save the PHP file.

The site is hosted by GoDaddy, which is less than ideal. To make matters worse, they have been having issues that have made the site extra slow over the last 24+ hours. However, it seems odd to me that every other entry that I have tried to edit works properly. Any thoughts on this?

Jeff, you can try the following:

1. Turn off new version checking.
2. Turn off extensions temporarily.
3. Upgrade to 1.6.9
4. Change hosts.

The last one is the one that’ll help the most. If this isn’t an option for you, look at the content itself. Are you getting close to going over size wise?
