I am running into an issue that I have seen on a few previous threads, but still unable to resolve.

I keep receiving the error message ‘Your system folder path does not appear to be set correctly. Please open the following file and correct this: index.php’, although I have followed the instructions and have named the system path variable correctly. I have tried with both relative paths and the full server path without any luck.

I have also tried setting the system path variable in the system/index.php file without any luck.

    Any ideas?

Tell us more about your setup. Is this Windows or Linux hosting? What happens if you don’t try and rename the system folder?

Have you tried the Server Wizard?

I am doing it on behalf of a client - the hosting is through GoDaddy on a Linux server.

The GoDaddy configuration they are using will not allow me to place the system folder above the public root folder, so I currently have:

$system_path = ‘./system’; (I renamed this back to system from CMSYS)

I have tried using just ‘system’ as well, and have tried resetting this variable in the system folder index.php file as well.

I tried running the wizard - I get the following error:

    No input file specified.

Hey guys - not sure what happened, but got it up and running. I think I was trying to edit the index.php files directly from the FTP client. When I did it locally and uploaded the files, it seems to work.

    Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks!
