    Hi,

I’m searching for a CMS for a project for my company.

I’ve been using CI for years, and would be keen on using EE for this project, but I know that Drupal could also be an option.

My main requirement is around site members.

The organization that I’m pitching to needs a membership system. This would allow members to log into the site etc, but also manage contact details and membership payments.

Members would be managed around their physical location. Events would be tied into this, so that members can see what’s on in their area on the homepage, and receive local news.

I would also like to be able to send mailings, but with some aspects of the email customised based on location. e.g. the main text of the email for everyone, but with a sidebar with “your local events” for each member.

    Thanks,

    Mei

EE povides that; contact details could be done via custom member profiles, and the MSM allows for people to be moved to a specific member group after payment.

EE does have a mailing list, but for a more robust solution your might perhaps want to turn to a third-party offering, or some custom code.
