    Hey there. My client emailed me and said he wasn’t able to log into the CP with his user so I tried with admin and was not able to login. I tried resetting the pass but the temp pass won’t work either. After hitting “submit” on the login it goes from xxx/index.php to index.php?S=e9e29xxxxxxx.

    I searched the forums and tested the following (separately) in the config file:

    $conf['user_session_type'] = "s";
    $conf['allow_extensions'] = "n";
    $conf['admin_session_type'] = "cs";

    But those three didn’t work. I emailed the client to see what the most recent updates were he did to the site. As far as development, we haven’t touched the EE files since the beginning of Sept. Below are our EE details:

    - EE 169 with MSM
    - Engine Hosting
    - imgsizer plugin
    - ff matrix extension
    - ngen file field plugin

    Thanks for your help. The temp URL is below if you need that:

    Best,

    - Andy

    Andy,

    get your client to clear their browser cache and cookies.
    Then try the following please

    $conf['cookie_domain'] = "";
    $conf['cookie_path'] = "";
    $conf['cookie_prefix'] = "";
    $conf['admin_session_type'] = "s";
    $conf['require_ip_for_login'] = "n";

    Also make sure you are logging in at whatever domain you originally installed EE on. Either http://www.mydomain.com or domain.com. The difference being the subdomain ‘www’

    Hey John,

    That worked! Thanks for the help. What do you think the problem was?

    Best,

    Andy, it might have been a cookie issue or maybe even his IP changing often which would have this affect. Closing this one out. Feel free to start a new thread if you have any more questions.
