What is the best practice for doing a fresh install over an existing one? Though not something I really want to do, it is a part of installing a wootheme I recently purchased. If at all possible, I’d like to keep the existing site backed up so I can revert back to it in case of an emergency. Is this a possibility especially when using the same MySQL database? I’m using the latest build update of ee 2.1.0, if that matters.

Checked documentation but couldn’t find anything about this specific situation, though if someone can direct me to something helpful I’d appreciate it.

All you should have to do, really, is run install.php again. You might want to upload a fresh set of files, too, if you aren’t using the latest build.

Of course, just make a copy of your database (always recommended) and keep it in a safe place.

Great, I thought there might be more to it than that. Thanks!

Glad I could be of service. Please do post again in case there’s anything else.
