    Hello,

I’m going through the process of upgrading my EE 1.6.7 install to EE 2.1. I followed the instructions here http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/installation/update_from_1.x.html but when hitting the button to begin the installation process I initially got a blank page but now I’m getting the message “Your config file does not appear to be formatted correctly”.

I had been using an archived config.php from my 1.6.7 install but I’ve also tried a blank file with the same result. I’ve set the permissions as specified in the instructions.

My system folder was originally renamed but I’ve now renamed it back to “system” and updated the appropriate reference in the root index.php. Still getting the message about the config file. I’d appreciate any help or advice on how to proceed. Thanks

    PHP Version 5.2.9
    Apache 2.0.63
    MySQL 5.0.91

I’ve managed to work round this and get it moving along. However, once I’ve filled out the information on the installation screen which asks for your ExpressionEngine License Number, Server Settings etc.. and pressing the Install ExpressionEngine button a blank screen is returned.

Please close this post. I’ve managed to get the installer to run all the way through.
