Here at Easy we have additional global and local config files in play and they get included by the config.php if they exist. Unfortunately, the built-in config rewriting stuff axes our additions, so we’ve rewritten the functions that touch the config file to play a little more nicely via two additions to the core functions file. I’ve packaged up diffs against the current build if you’d like to consider incorporation in future revisions to 1.6.x (which I realize is no longer in development). These changes may be applicable in 2.x as well, but I have not looked.

    Aaron,

thanks for sharing. I am going to move this thread to the CodeShare Corner for you as this isn’t a technical support issue per-say.

There are 2 other things you could do with this. One is make a feature request for EE2.x and the other is to share your method on our Wiki

Thanks. I wasn’t sure if this forum was EE2 only, which is why I tried to find a good spot for it in with the 1.6.x stuff 😉

Aaron, it appears the core.functions.php diff is not for a revision containing the _backup_config_file() and _rewrite_config_file() methods.

Apologies Derek, I forgot I had the additions in there under 1.6.8. Here’s a patch to the fresh 1.6.9 file from a download I grabbed yesterday.
