    Hi,

Penetration testing has been done on my clients website to ensure it’s as robust as possible following their last website being hacked, and one of the risks provided in the test results is the fact ExpressionEngine discloses its version and build number in the CP footer.

I understand in the license it states that the logo and copyright should be kept intact, but would it be possible to remove the version and build number while leaving the rest of the footer untouched? If so, how would I go about doing this?

    Thanks,

    Liam

    Hi, Liam.

    Take a look at:
    /system/cp/cp.display.php around line 1580.

If there are any updates to the 1.x branch, you’ll need to re-apply any changes you make.

    Does that help?

    Hi Sue,

That is very helpful. Now managed to get rid of the version and build while keeping the copyright intact. Thanks a lot! You can close this one out.
