    Hi there,

I’m trying to customize the member module such that I can display portions of the member’s information (if logged in, obviously) on every page. Also, there are many features of the member module which I don’t need, such as avatars, private messages, etc. Is there any way to disable these features, or do I simply remove them from the PHP file under profile_themes

I’m feeling as though there has to be a simple way to do this, but I haven’t found it, and I can’t find it when I try to search online.
(On another note, I know that there’s a page here which gives me the login related tags, but I’m not sure if that ties into the member module session.)

    deepcshah, welcome to the forums!

You can disable avatars via Admin ›  Members and Groups ›  Membership Preferences (then click Avatar Preferences on the left). For the rest, removing what you don’t need from the profile theme is your best bet.

    Thanks Brandon!

I decided to take another shot to figuring it out and did and was writing the following when you replied! Haha.. =]

Part of it was staring at me in the face (page for Custom Profile Data Tag)

I also realized how to customize the specific pages (just to get rid of the EE tags in the member templates). And I found the specific tags with the prefix ‘{lang:...}’ in the Complete Tag List in the wiki. I’d ask if there’s an easier way to do this but your suggestion is to do what I realized how to do.

    Thanks again
