CP returns blank page after logging in

    Running EE 1.6.7 build 20090122. After a recent PHP upgrade to 5.3 I can’t get to CP at all. The site itself displays just fine and I do get the login screen perfectly normal when trying to enter CP. But after I log in, all I get is a blank page. Same for other users too.

    Can this be a PHP/EE 1.6.7 problem? I’m thinking I should probably upgrade to 1.6.9 but I want to be absolutely sure that’s the problem here, because paying for an upgrade that might break some of the site’s logic isn’t too nice if it doesn’t fix the actual problem. Like I said, the public version of the site is functioning just fine so I don’t want to risk that unless I’m sure updating EE will fix this problem (in which case if the update breaks something I can at least fix it once I get to CP).

    The codebase for 1.6.9 is more friendly for PHP 5.3, but I can’t guarantee it.

    How much memory is allocated to PHP? You might need to create a phpinfo.php file to check this.

    <?php phpinfo(); ?>

    added to a file you’d upload.

    I believe it’s the “memory_limit” value under Core? If so, 128M.

    128M is certainly enough for EE. Sounds like 1.6.9 would be the way to go for you. Does that help?

    Just got back home from vacation and yes, upgrade to 1.6.9 solved the issue for me, so everything’s good and you can close this one. Thanks. 😊
