    Hello everyone,

I’ve launched my new rockatee version today. It still has some minor hiccups, but the whole transition from 1.x to 2 went smoothly. And I must say, after having felt a bit lost in the new admin cp at first, I can now say I LOVE IT! :D

I’m so happy I did the upgrade and I am looking to be more active in EE-land again.

Oh, and I’m now 100% fluid (the design, not me!). Pixels adieu. :D

    Thanks and best,

    Maleika

Oh those Germans…always nicely engineered 😊
Wonderful work and great portfolio; really like the simplicity of your designs and illustrations.
Do you mind sharing what image resizing technique you used on this fluid layout?
    All the best.

    Thank you, lebisol!

Do you mean in terms of a plugin/extension? If so, I didn’t use any. I created the images manually for optimal results. 😊

The rest is done via CSS. I have created all images bigger than needed, so that when people resize their screen, the image quality doesn’t suffer too much. The images are as big/small as the viewport permits. I realise that the images don’t look too good when the viewport is minized to the extreme, but I prefer a little quality loss over the loss of flexibility.

Was that your question? I have the habit of answering questions nobody ever asked. *embarrassed*

Still not everything done, but getting there! :D

Abraham, none of the layout techniques you posted deal with flud layouts, as far as I can see. I might be overlooking something though. Dealing with images in fluid layouts is different from using them in normal fixed width layouts. Even elastic layouts (em based) are a bit trickier.

    Hi Abraham!

No, I haven’t used any of the methods you listed.

But you’re right of course, when SVG comes, we’ll have a lot more flexibility and fewer compromises to make. 😊

Thanks, Chris. Well, I’m not loving my design anymore. In fact, I hate it. Am already 50% into the third iteration. I think this will be the shortest period any design was ever live. :D
